PIKOM Fair / PC fair

I went to the PIKOM Fair at Persada Johor with my mum yesterday but was too exhausted to blog about it , plus i was in a foul mood too.

Okay , here's what happened.

It was around 2.30 pm , we booked a cab and the cabbie wanted to charged us RM 25(daylight robbery!) initially , but my mum managed to haggle the the price down to RM 20.

Way to go mum!

The journey to Persada wasn't smooth.

It was super jam.

Road packed with cars.

It guess it's probably because it coincided with Good Friday and many Singaporeans took this opportunity to shop and get better deals in Malaysia , so they decided to make their way to JB and flood our roads with their wonderful imported cars.
No offence intended.

The jam was so terrible that the cabbie has no choice but to use another route , the one leading up to St. Joseph.

But it was even worst as many Christian worshippers parked the cars on the stretch of road at the nearby church. Narrowing the road making it hard for other cars to maneuver.
Cars honking madly urging each other to move.

Then the taxi driver turn to my mum said , " Macam ini la kena tambah tambang la" , which also means " Looks like i have increase your fare Ma'am".
Trying to make a quick buck out of us i supposed.

Half-way through the journey , it started to rain.
Oh , great.

By the time we reached our destination , it was already 3 plus pm. Took longer than usual.

We got down and paid only RM 21. Then he was like , "Huh , add only RM 1 only ah? I thought you would give RM 25"
He was clearly disapointed. Haha. :p
Don't try to push your luck , dude. Nyah nyah nyah poo poo!
Who says he has the authority to simply increase our fare anyway.
Besides , he only drop us at the side of Persada which was quite a distance from the entrance.

So , we dashed across to Persada with my problematic umbrella.
Why wouldn't the stupid umbrella open properly???

When i took a step inside the building the security guard guy stop me instantly and ordered me to leave my umbrella outside building ( Hellooo!!! Ever heard of umbrella theft?Or desperate people nicking umbrellas?)
*Temper rising*
So , i have no choice but attempted pathetically to dry my umbrella with tissues and stuffed it inside my cute handbag.
*sobs. Sniff. Sniff.

Then we went to the fair which was held at the second floor of the buiding.

There was a huge variety of desktops , laptops , electronic devices computer accessories and gadgets from various brands to choose from.
Kinda impressed.

Went to browse around and being shoved with lots of pamphlets by promoters.
Finally i decided to settle on a HP Pavilion dv2-1003AX notebook.
Stylish , cool , light , great functions and affordable. Just the way i like it. =)

By the time we're done , it was already four plus.
Tried to hitched a taxi but failed.
Then we walked all the way to Menara Landmark ( more than half a km i think) lugging heavy plastic bags .
Tried again but without luck.
Then we walked to Wisma Maria but still couldn't get a cab.
Walked further to a bus stop nearby .
Tried to hail for almost half an hour a cab but none of them wanted to stop.
The only reward we got for our efforts were aching limbs , soddy shoes and soaked clothings.

we dragged our legs again for another 1 km to City Square.
Climbed up the stairs. Feel like i was gonna collapse.
So i requested we stopped for a break.
Had a refreshing bowl of cendol and off went again to try our luck for the thousandth time.
Waited at the taxi stand with a long queue for more than a hour but none of the taxis wanted to stop. Must be due to the bad traffic and also because it's dinner time.
Malaysian taxi drivers. =_=

So , we finally gave up and decided to take a bus.
Another long wait.
By the time the bus arrive it was almost 8 pm.
Everybody pushed and squeezed their way into the bus.
Level of courtesy= 0 %

The bus driver was another fine example of someone with perfect and impeccable manners.

I asked him how much is the bus fare and he just stared at me.
I asked again.
Still no answer.
Knitted his eyebrows in distress.
Then my mum asked " One person to Desa Jaya is RM 2.40 , right?"
He then replied in a rude tone, literally shouted " One person is RM 2.70 lah!"
At that very moment , i wanted to give him a punch on his unfriendly face for his uncouth attitude towards my mother.
Service my foot!!
I was( and still am) shocked , repulsed and disgusted by his impertinent behaviour.

The bus was very packed so we had to stand almost the whole way , breathing the fragrant scent of armpits and body odours. How delightful is that.
When the bus halt at another bus stop the conductor urged us to go further inside( how are we supposed to go further inside when the whole bus is already packed like a tin of sardines??!)
just to accomodate more people.
Great , more free perfume.

By the time we reached Desa Jaya it was already 9 plus pm.
Got down from the bus , climbed up the overhead bridge and limped all the way back home.

Reached home tired and exhausted.
Took a bath and immediately crashed on my bed.
Sigh...what a day indeed.
